The
leader of a T.E.E. group in the T.E.E. program is known as the
tutor.‘Take the Teachings’is a short T.E.E. course
written to help you become an effective tutor of a T.E.E. group.This course takes you through
the T.E.E. Tutor’s Guide.By doing this course you will become familiar with the ministry
of T.E.E. and the work of a T.E.E. tutor.Completion of this course is a
requirement for all T.E.E. tutors.
17. MELANESIAN TOK PISIN (MTP-01):
Melanesian Tok Pisin is the trade language of Papua New Guinea. MTP-01 is an introductory one-year course in Melanesian Tok Pisin. The curriculum is based on materials developed by the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL-PNG) and the Papua New Guinea University of Technology’s Department of Language and Communication Studies. The course is intended for newcomers to Papua New Guinea who wish to know the country and its people better by becoming familiar with the largest language spoken. Emphasis is on the study and understanding of grammar, both written and colloquial, the development of an extensive vocabulary, and the application of the language in the country. Conversational Melanesian Tok Pisin will be applied on field trips to the market, town, and through daily interaction with native speakers. This course requires five (5) hours of class per week. In addition, the course requires two (2) hours of conversational application and practice per week.
